Items to bring
Medications in hand luggage with duplicates in packed luggage:
- Cipro, Doxycycline (or Malarone)
- Tylenol, Ibuprofen
- Benadryl
- Diflucan if you are a woman
- Dramamine
- A few packs of oral rehydrations salts
- Medication for any personal conditions
- Syringes and needles for personal injectable medication with a physician letter documenting necessity
- A list of all your medications with trade and generic names with dosage and frequency of dosage
Other items:
- Glasses (and an extra pair) and the prescription for them
- Contact lenses (and and extra pair) and the prescription for them
- A medic alert bracelet or wallet card for conditions and allergies
- Copy of travel health insurance policy and home country health insurance policy
- Copy of your medevac policy
- Passport (and a photocopy of it kept separately)
- Travel visa for the country you are visiting
- Vaccination Certificates
- Electrical power converter. Electricity in Tanzania is 230 volts AC, 50hz: round or square 3-pin plugs, fused or unfused. The 230 volt plugs in Tanzania are generally English style
- A flashlight (torch)
- An international driver licence. While not necessary it is good to have if you will drive. It makes the police much happier.
